You may be like so many seasoned Pittsburghers: familiar with a few great getaways that you try to visit every time life gets crazy. It's not difficult to find places in and around Pittsburgh where you can relax, from stately historic hotels to quaint bed-and-breakfasts. And, if you have trouble getting there, the city's many transportation options provide easy access for a quick getaway.

One place you may not know about, but you'll want to add to your list of wonderful getaways is Buhl Mansion Guesthouse and Spa in Sharon, Pa. "You really do feel like royalty when you come here," says general manager Laura Ackley, "because everything is serene, quiet and elegant but comfortable.

"Buhl Mansion Guesthouse and Spa treats guests to restorative treatments such as the 50-minute Caviar Timeless Facial, or you might opt for the Desert Heat Body Wrap. Guests can also stay overnight in one of the 10 guest rooms like Grand Turret, a royal retreat with a king-sized bed in the main living/sleeping area and an oversized Jacuzzi housed inside the mansion's largest turret."

Peruse the pages that follow to get an idea of not only fabulous destinations, but also transportation options. -Rachael Moss
