Pittsburgh magazine

Most of us find ourselves going to the same old stores for the same old goods and services. It gets boring. Really boring. So we've put together a fresh and interesting list of shopping possibilities that includes everything from big malls to neighborhood shopping districts.

The fabulous thing about shopping in Pittsburgh is you can find just about anything, from a wacky Halloween costume (check out "Bargain Shopper") to elaborate wedding accoutrements (see "Special Occasions").

A newcomer to the area's shopping options is Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills, which offers the quaint and quirky energy of an urban shopping district with many hard-to-come-by stores including H&M (a New York fashion hot spot) and Kaleidoscope Dolls (extraordinary dolls, locally made). There's also entertainment at the Mills, such as Lucky Strike Lanes and an IMAX theater, making it a real shopping destination.

On the following pages, you'll find everything from soy candle dealers to a do-it-yourself handbag studio, so tuck this City Guide under your belt and go to town.
