
SALLY SHIREY'S dedication to support and promote literary-arts-education for writers of all ages has made the LIGONIER VALLEY WRITERS a valuable resource for both established and aspiring writers. Through her contacts she has brought together publishers, authors, editors and presenters. Her work and commitment have been a vital source for keeping the organization funded and accessible. For this we honor Sally Shirey with a 2005 Dominion Vita Award.

Over the past 30 years, HARVEY MEIERAN has helped the PITTSBURGH SAVOYARDS bring the comic operas of Gilbert and Sullivan to life by promoting appreciation and knowledge of these works within the community. He has tirelessly supported and advanced the quality of Pittsburgh's oldest theater company still in production. His publicity and development efforts greatly enhanced the organization's financial stability, and helped launch a successful series of outreach performances in western Pennsylvania. For his dedication and pioneering spirit we honor Harvey Meieran with a 2005 Dominion Vita Award.

With spirit, imagination and 20-plus years on the board of directors, MARY BORKOW has provided strong leadership to the JOHNSTOWN SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA. Mary has been instrumental in the production of the Symphony Chamber series, and her commitment to the musical education of young people is never ending. For her optimism and forward thinking we honor Mary Borkow with a 2005 Dominion Vita Award.

Through her work with OPUS I MUSIC SOCIETY, LINDA MAURHOFF has insured that the students and residents of Pine-Richland, Mars and Seneca Valley have the opportunity to hear and participate in great music programs. Through Linda's continuous support and encouragement, students have scholarship opportunities and local music teachers have support and inspiration.
