VITA Awards 2004

WQED Multimedia salutes outstanding volunteers in the arts community with the Volunteer in the Arts award, made possible by Dominion.

A committee of Pittsburgh area professionals interested in cultivating the invaluable volunteer arts force selects the winners.The winners are honored monthly on the WQED website, with on-air salutes on WQED tv13 and WQED fm89.3, and with a full-page ad in PITTSBURGH magazine.

The winning volunteer's organization will receive a $1,000 grant in honor of their volunteer. The Volunteer of the Year's organization will be awarded an additional grant of $2,500.

WQED Multimedia and Dominion celebrate the volunteer honorees during a special luncheon in September, where the Volunteer of the Year is announced.

Robin Godfrey
Robin Godfrey’s tireless work has helped the Renaissance City Choirs fulfill its mission as a leading artistic organization representing Pittsburgh’s gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community. Congratulations to Dominion VITA winner, Robin Godfrey and Renaissance City Choirs.

Patricia Kraft
For the past 22 years, Patricia Kraft’s commitment and dedication has helped South Arts advance cultural and educational activities through collaborations with galleries, organizations and the community. Congratulations to Dominion VITA winner, Patricia Kraft and South Arts.

Brian Britza
Although relatively new to the area, Brian Britza has had an impact on the way the Steel Valley Arts Council serves the community by helping to secure a permanent exhibit space for area artists. Congratulations to Dominion VITA winner Brian Britza and Steel Valley Arts Council.

James Winegar
Former Artist’s Co-op President, and current Vice President, James Winegar has improved the co-op’s ability to showcase the talents of the region by making the organization more visible to the community. Congratulations to Dominion VITA winner, James Winegar and Artist’s Co-op.
