WQED Multimedia is in the research and pre-production phases of one of its most ambitious projects to date: The War That Made America. This national production will tell the story of the French and Indian War, a large portion of which took place in southwestern Pennsylvania and advanced the career of George Washington. The French and Indian War set the stage for the Revolutionary War, but until now, did not receive the same attention.
WQED Multimedia will produce a documentary as part of a larger project under the banner of The War for Empire Consortium, which seeks to focus attention on southwestern Pennsylvania and the pivotal role this area played in the founding of the United States.

The goal of the project is to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the war and will be kicked off as part of WQED Multimedia’s 50th anniversary.
