Harmonia, with Angela Mariani

Powerful rulers do double-duty on this morning’s show.  We'll hear music that kings and emperors composed themselves, including Henry VIII, Frederick the Great, Leopold I, and Alfonso X. Plus, we'll hear from a featured recording of music by the great poet-composer, Thibaut I, King of Navarre.

7:00am

Sunday Baroque, with Suzanne Bona

Saint Cecilia was the patron saint of music and musicians, so it’s no surprise that composers wrote music in honor of her.  November 22nd is Saint Cecilia’s feast day, and this morning’s show will mark the occasion with a variety of baroque music created in tribute to her.
