Philip Pandolfi was named to the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra bassoon section beginning with the 1995-96 season. He was born and received his early music training in St. Louis, Missouri. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University and was a winner of the Indiana University Woodwind Concerto Competition in 1985. Temple University awarded him a Master of Music degree in Performance in 1988. He has held bassoon positions with the Haddonfield Symphony, the St. Louis Symphony, the Chicago Symphony, the New World Symphony and the Florida Orchestra. He served as second bassoon with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra before coming to Pittsburgh.
