Virginia Johnson and Terrance Orr

Virginia Johnson is the Artistic Director of Dance Theater of Harlem. She joins Pittsburgh Ballet Artistic Director Terrence Orr to talk about their two week residency at the August Wilson Center and the many events relating to the stay. She describes the special mood of Harlem and the company with its history and financial challenges. The two talk about their many collaborations including the premiere of Fall River Legend with Agnes Demille and Morton Gould. They talk about their efforts to bring the dance world a more colorful diverse feel, the music they will be dancing to, the premiere event at the August Wilson Center, the filmed ballets Virginia has starred in and much more.
