|Honegger's "King David"|
Presented by: Bach Choir of Pittsburgh
Titled a "dramatic psalm," this retelling of le roi David consists of twenty-seven movements across three parts, and includes actors and dramatic elements interspersed with the music. Honegger's use of several musical styles ranging from Gregorian chant to Baroque to jazz allowed him to make a serious contribution to the neoclassical era. Thomas Douglas conducts.
