Rocky Bleier hosts aa one-hour musical celebration of American service men and women, featuring a moving performance of Danny Boy with PSO oboist Cynthia Koledo DeAlmeida and Allegheny County Police Detective Ricky Manning; a special Armed Forces Salute medley, God Bless America with soprano Katy Shackleton Williams, Brahms' Violin Concerto featuring the PSO's Ellen Chen-Livingston, and Copland's "Four Dance Episodes" from Rodeo.

Neighborhood Week: Brass N’at

Neighborhood Week: Classical Standards

Jazz alto saxophone legend Phil Woods joins PSO musicians to recreate the historic 1950 recording "Charlie Parker with Strings," featuring arrangements of classical standards, which Parker often referred to as his all-time favorite sessions. The concert will also recreate selections from the 1955 album "Clifford Brown with Strings," featuring trumpeter Dr. James Moore.

St. John Passion

Bach's gospel truth as revealed by music director Manfred Honeck, vocal soloists, and the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh. Samuel Helfrich directs this semi-staged production of Bach's profound St. John Passion, a sacred oratorio using scripture from the Gospel of John, which was composed for Good Friday Vespers in Leipzig in 1724.
