Reading, writing and imagination are all part of the national PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest initiative, operated in conjunction with local schools across the country. This year, WQED is partnering with West Virginia Public Broadcasting, WPSU, and the EQT Foundation to offer the contest, which encourages children in grades K through 3 to submit their own original stories and illustrations for local, regional and national recognition. Enter to win the 2012 contest!
Teens On Q is a television program, produced by WQED, that takes teens behind the scenes of a particular career or industry to meet professionals already at work there, provides teens with some basis for career exploration, and gives them the chance to think about academic, volunteer, and job-shadowing opportunities they can pursue now to prepare for that career. Children's Theater: Click, Clack, Moo!
January 11-18, 2015
The cows in this tale are an unusual bunch—they can type and they’re on strike! Farmer Brown can’t believe his ears when he first hears “click, clack, moo” coming from the barn. The cows are typing a letter asking for improved working conditions and will do anything to get it—even if it means refusing to be milked. This hilariously mooooving musical comedy about the power of compromise is based on Doreen Cronin and Betsy Lewin’s Caldecott Honor Book, a New York Times best-seller. (Ages 4-10) Theatreworks USA
