WQED
strives to use technology creatively to save you time and quickly
connect you to relevant resources and content areas. Here's a look
at what's inside:
Educational
rights for schools of PBS programs: Find out about how you can
use WQED's programs in your school, and what the rights are for
this month's programs.
This
month from PBS Teachers: Ideas, TV programs and online resources tied to a specific
theme related to what's happening in the world around us.
Using
video effectively in the classroom: Find out how you can "master the medium"
and incorporate the magic of television into your classroom curriculum.
Pittsburgh
History Series Teachers' Guide: Based
on WQED's television series, curriculum guides present classroom
material around six themes: Western Pennsylvania History, Folks
in Community, Rivers and Valleys, Buildings and Bridges, The Arts,
and Having Fun. Lessons in the areas of language arts, science,
math, art, and social studies will correlate to video segments on
particular topics. And in each lesson, you will be provided with
background readings, discussion questions, and activities, which
can be used in the classroom before, during, or after the selected
video segment.
