I don't belong to the Wissahickon club (mainly because they meet in Sewickley and I live near Mingo Park), but the Western Pennsylvania Botanical Society was invited to participate in their celebration last weekend. I was only able to attend the birding walk in the morning, but it was a wonderful outing....the people in the club are very friendly, the birding walk leader was really good at pointing out the different bird song and helping us spot many of the birds that were singing with our binoculars. I would highly recommend that anyone who enjoys learning about nature check out the group.
