Not about Peregrines, but something strange and alarming about Hawks in NYC – 3 hawks found dead within 2 weeks in 2 NYC parks…
I’ve seen a Peregrine “having a lunch” on high voltage tower past friday.

I think, it’s a Peregrine from Nassau Medical Center building in East Meadow.
They do have a nest on 16th floor ledge – as much I do know.

“Poke it with a broom” made me laugh. And then I remembered the photos of people using brooms to fend off the falcons at the COL during banding and I laughed again. I can hear David Attenborough explaining why brooms are a natural threat to falcons in my head…
