My husband was almost charged by one in Yellowstone while trying to take a photo from a distance. Just keep a lot of space between you and the elk. They are beautiful animals.

We have a lot of Elk out here, supposedly thousands in the Valles Caldera. I’m not sure what they are going to do with the fires now. But it is funny to see Beware of Elk and Bear signs on the road instead of deer.
