Hi
Last night my dog's barking woke me to noise in the woodsy patch behind our house There was an "animal in distress" sound. A terrible, soft, pathetic whimpering. It went on for 20 min. I guessed it might be the prey of an owl. But wouldn't an owl kill immediately? I also heard branches and leaves being disturbed about every 3-5 min. , at first low to the ground then, up higher in the trees and that sound was traveling , moving through the woods. My dog (on leash) and I explored this morning where we could because there is a sheer drop off in that part of the woods, but no clues to be seen. Any wisdom on this?
