In the past, I've found Virginia Bluebells blooming across the road from the front of the main office building at Raccoon Creek State Park. The park is located in southern Beaver County, Pa. on Rt. 18.

And what a stunning photo!

I saw some small purple flowers blooming when i was out yesterday...I'll have to go take a closer look and figure out what it is I saw.

And to the usual bird theme around here, today is Audubon's birthday. Google has a new doodle up to commemorate the occasion. How many of the birds in it can you name? http://www.google.com/ (and a more long term link - http://www.google.com/logos/index.html )
