Seems like the whole country, east of the Mississippi has been experiencing a thaw. It had an uncanny, but very pleasing effect on The Aged Cat . I'm still scratching my head over it. . . . . btw, have you ever visited Blackwater Wildlife Refuge, on Maryland's Eastern Shore. I think you'd enjoy it. I saw my first Bald Eagles there nearly 30 years ago. .

I'm sure you saw a bald eagle. I saw one at the Mon River on 12/29/07. Jack & Sue Solomon saw one near the Rankin Bridge on 11/30/07. I guess this eagle has come to visit for the winter.

Hi There,

I am trying to figure out if, it was at all possible, that I did indeed see a bald eagle this morning.
I was walking around a track in Swissvale.
The track overlooks the mon valley. Rankin, Braddock, Homstead.
I got a pretty good look, but I just couldn't get a good angle to see the head. I saw strong and clear flashes of a bright white fanned out tail and I can't think of any other bird of prey with a flashy white tail! Is it possible!!
Let me know what you think.
I saw that one was spotted over the mon, but where?

Thanks and happy new year,
Amy
