Casella, Prokofiev & Schumann
Guest Conductor Gianandrea Noseda leads influential Italian Alfredo Casella's orchestral suite from La donna serpente (the serpent woman), his only major opera, from 1931. Pianist Jean Eflam Bavouzet performs Prokofiev's dynamic Piano Concerto #5, written a year later. Schumann's hopeful Symphony #2 closes the program.

Bach and Beyond
Chatham Baroque's core trio focuses on Bach's intimate works: the magnificent Chaconne for unaccompanied violin, a solo suite for the German lute, duets from The Art of the Fugue, and Bach's Sonata for violin and continuo in G Major. Beyond Bach are pieces by his contemporaries Georg Philipp Telemann, Carl Friedrich Abel, and Johann Kropfgans.

Freya String Quartet Presents Roots

The Secret Life of Robots
This show by Toby Atticus Fraley (creator of the whimsical installation "Fraley's Robot Repair") features a dozen scenes of robots in everyday scenarios, which are domestic vignettes presenting an unpolished look into the unseen, and often mundane, lives of robots -- constructed from vintage thermoses, picnic coolers, and various found objects.

Simon Johnson, organ
As Organist at St. Paul's Cathedral in London, Simon Johnson presides over the five-manual Willis/Mander organ, one of the finest musical instruments in the world. A noted soloist, accompanist, improviser, choir director, composer, editor and arranger, Johnson will include Bach's Prelude and Fugue in C major (BWV 547) and Widor's Symphony No 6 in his program.
