Poulenc: Trio for Oboe, Bassoon, and Piano; Canteloube: Rustiques for Oboe, Clarinet, and Bassoon; Milhaud: La cheminée du roi René for Wind Quintet; Ligeti: Six Bagatelles for Wind Quintet; Mozart: Quintet for Piano and Winds in E-flat major, K. 452. This Winds + Piano program will feature such renowned artists as Gilles Vonsattel (piano), Tara Helen O'Connor (flute), David Shifrin (clarinet), Stephen Taylor (oboe), Peter Kolkay (bassoon), and Butler, PA's William Purvis (horn).

One Singular Sensation
This tribute to beloved Principal Pops Conductor, the late Marvin Hamlisch features Tony Award-winning Idina Menzel, triple Olivier Award winner Maria Friedman, asa well as Lucie Arnaz, Robert Klein and Kevin Cole, among others. The PSO will be led by acclaimed conductor J. Ernest Green in an evening of Hamlisch's Tony, Oscar, Pulitzer, Grammy and Emmy-winning works.

Playing off the date of this concert, composers wrote new music inspired by events that occured on a January 31st. Composers include OvreArts founders Blake Ragghianti and Luke Mayernik, as well as Erberk Eryilmaz, Chris Massa, Emily Jackson and Ryan McMasters. Original choreography by Texture Contemporary Ballet and Chelsea Zimmer will be featured, as well as a special appearance by WQED's own Rick Sebak. Classical QED's Ted Sohier hosts.

Youth Orchestra Winter Concert
The PYCO will perform selections from Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Mozart's Overture to the Marriage of Figaro, and works by Corelli and Saint-Saens. Two winners of the PYCO concerto competition will be featured: North Allegheny Senior High's Kavita Shankar and Carson Middle School's Kennedy Urban.

Soap Opera is an evening-length mashup of original contemporary dance  with opera classics and live performances by Pittsburgh Opera resident artist Nicole Rodin. Soap Opera tells a Scheherazade-inspired tale of a talented musical couple as she prepares herself and her husband for his expected death, holding witness through the stories and adventures before embracing his inevitable departure.
