Imagine four acclaimed singer-songwriters, Grammy nods among them, criss-crossing the USA throughout December, trading original holiday songs in a Bluebird Café-styled "writers-in-the-round" tour before intimate rapt audiences. That was the brainchild when Amy Speace conceived of Decembersongs in 2010 with her colleagues Jon Vezner, Dan Navarro and Sally Barris.
Youth Philharmonic Plays Sounds of the Season
The Pittsburgh Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and Prelude Ensembles play a free concert of festival holiday music.
Navidad Caribe - Coro Latinoamericano

The Pittsburgh School for the Choral Arts & Oakland Girls Choirs invite you on a musical journey from darkness to light featuring Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols, the Pittsburgh premiere of Frank LaRocca's Magnificat, carols from around the world, and carols arranged by David Willcocks, John Rutter, et. al.
Festival of Lessons and Carols
Short seasonal scripture readings are followed by choral or handbell arrangements of traditional carols telling the story from the fall of Adam to the birth of the Christ child. Info: 412 835-4415.

Carl Iezzi conducts Christmas on Broadway, arranged by John Higgins; Christmas Joy, by Sammy Nestico; Miracle on 34th Street, by Bruce Broughton; and Christmas Festival, by Leroy Anderson. Plus, Neil Stahurski directs the choir from the Church of the Assumption in Bellevue.
Seasons: A Celtic Christmas
A sibling harp and hammered dulcimer trio. All three play piano and try their hand at percussion.
Latshaw Pops Christmas Show
The Latshaw Pops Orchestra, singers and dancers give two performances of a holiday variety show with Christmas songs and carols, and a special visit from Santa.
Works of Britten, Elgar, and Neruda
Erin Yanacek solos in Johann Neruda's Trumpet Concerto. The ensemble also plays Edward Elgar's Serenade for Strings and Benjamin Britten's Simple Symphony. Edward Leonard and Marice Staton conduct. Free, donations welcome.
Highmark Holiday Pops
Celebrate the season with carols and much-loved holiday music, including "Sleigh Ride" and selections from The Nutcracker. This multitude of holiday treats conducted by Daniel Meyer features vocalist Rachel DeShon, winner of Marvin Hamlisch's Search for a Star competition, and the return of singing detective Ricky Manning.

Christmas in 1862
Let yourself be taken back to a simpler time as The Pittsburgh Historical Society Orchestra and the ACFL&MH present a recreation of a parlor concert from Christmas in 1862. Musicians will be dressed in costume and will play instruments of the period. Free admission.
Home for the Holidays
It's the most wonderful time of the year when WSO Artistic Director Daniel Meyer conducts our annual concert. Sing along with your favorite holiday music featuring the All-Star Choir of Westmoreland County under the direction of Marc Tourre.

His live shows are known for their humor, performance, passion, and infectious joy. Tommy has set aside excellent seats for WQED supporters.
