They've worked with VH1 Hip Hop Honors Awards, Stars of New York Dance, and the premiere of the HBO "Sing your Song" documentary with Harry Belafonte. Presented by Kente Arts Alliance.

Compagnie Kafig
This innovative hip-hop ensemble has become an international phenomenon. Inspired by an encounter with eleven young dancers from the shantytowns of Brazil, director and choreographer Mourad Merzouki created Correria and Agwa—two heart-stopping works that showcase a sensational combination of athletic samba, hip-hop and capoeira dance styles. The all-male company from Brazil exhibits theatrical intelligence and is gifted with irresistible personality and astonishing dancing. Bursting with fun, humor and vitality, this show is set to an energetic soundtrack of samba and bossa nova music.

Gershwin Valentine
A pianist praised for her “vivid and beautiful playing,” (New York Times) Joyce Yang performs Gershwin's Concerto in F with the Westmoreland Symphony and music director Daniel Meyer. Vaughan Williams' Symphony No. 5 completes the evening.

"PSO Musicians Care" Fund Benefit Concert
The musicians of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra present a concert to fund public school music programs. Donations will aid in the repair and purchase of musical instruments, transporting students to Heinz Hall for the PSO's education concerts, and music career scholarships. Music Director Manfred Honeck conducts the program of Bach, Haydn, Strauss, Beethoven, and Tchaikovsky.

This nationwide traveling exhibition showcases more than 130 pieces of original art and literary work created by teen winners of the 2013 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. These awards, judged by panels of professionals, have a legacy dating back to 1923, when Pittsburgh native M.R. Robinson founded Scholastic Inc. University of Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra: Britten & Beethoven
Tenor Robert Frankenberry joins the University of Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra for Britten's Nocturne, then takes the conductor's podium for Beethoven's Triple Concerto. Director Roger Zahab will pick up his violin to perform the Beethoven with cellist Paula Tuttle and pianist Donna Amato.

The Planets with NASA Film
Manfred Honeck leads a celebration of Pittsburgh composers. Five composers contributed movements to a world premiere suite inspired by the classical "elements" earth, water, air, fire, and metal. NASA video footage accompanies The Planets. From bellicose Mars to mystical Neptune, Holst's iconic musical portrayal of the planets and their astrological significance delights audiences with its richly-colored orchestration and memorable melodies.
