 Allegheny Brass Band The ABB is a British-style brass band. Unlike your typical high school or college band and most “community” bands, we have no woodwinds (saxophone, clarinet, bassoon, flute, oboe). And of course, we have "no strings attached." Founded in 1984, the ABB is made up of about 30 amateur players who despite their diverse backgrounds and walks of life – share a common love of music. The Total Immersion Of Madeleine Favorini Pittsburgh's No Name Players opens its new-plays reading season with Frank Gagliano's drama in which Madeleine journeys from dutifulness to rebellion on a gynecological examining table that takes wing — and which features the soaring "vacuum vagina" speech. Franz Mohr and the Horowitz Steinway Franz Mohr, Steinway's Chief Technician since 1965, worked closely with Horowitz, Cliburn, Rubinstein and others. He will appear with the piano that Horowitz played wherever he performed, and which Mohr gave its signature brilliant tone and lightning-quick action. Young pianists will play the instrument.
