Grand Finale with Honeck
Manfred Honeck closes the season with the PSO's Gorton family (James, Gretchen and daughter Heidi) in an imaginative Concert Piece by Eugene Goossens. Maestro Honeck continues the PSO's Mahler Cycle with the immensely moving Sixth Symphony, containing the haunting sounds of Alpine cowbells, celesta, and a devastating hammer of fate. Last performed by the PSO ten years ago, this "Tragic" Symphony is an epic masterwork.

Three Centuries of Printmaking
The Frick features three exhibitions of printmaking: its own collections of 18th-century mezzotints and 19th century chomolithographs, complemented by the traveling exhibition The Prints of Jacques Callot. The three shows span over 200 years, yet all the works demonstrate the importance of the printmaker in recording, publishing and disseminating a distinct view of the world.

Bloomsday in Pittsburgh
Irish actor and director Alan Stanford (currently in PICT's The Pitman Painters) will read part of the Cyclops section at Mullaney's Harp & Fiddle as part of Pittsburgh's 24th annual celebration of James Joyce's Ulysses. Free readings, open to the public, will take place at a variety of locales throughout the day,begining at the Crazy Mocha Cafe in Bloomfield, and finishing at The Map Room in Regent Square. Bring a copy and read along.

Midsummer Night's Revels
PSIP's first annual fundraising dinner offers drinks and appetizers at 6:30pm and at 7:00 pm a full-course dinner, entertainment, magic, and a silent auction. Donations support PSIP’s September 2012 production of "The Tempest," directed by Alan Irvine, performed free of charge in Pittsburgh city parks.
