Yo-Yo Ma with the PSO
With 15 Grammy Awards, an Avery Fisher Prize and a National Medal of Arts, Yo-Yo Ma is arguably classical music's most respected and versatile soloist. Ma returns to Heinz Hall for an exclusive performance of Dvorak's Cello Concerto with Music Director Manfred Honeck and the PSO. Turtle Island Quartet with Mike Marshall
The Turtle Island Quartet - best known for its fusion of classical technique with the American music traditions of jazz, rock, bluegrass, and folk, as well as the traditional ethnic musics of other nationalities - makes its PCMS debut with mandolinist Mike Marshall in "Solstice Celebration," a program featuring music of the solstice season from each of the performers' ancestral heritages. The audience will be treated to the music traditions of Christmas, Chanukah and Dewali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, as well as contemporary selections associated with the season.

Holiday Unwrapped
This dance premiere features Attack Theatre's rambunctious physicality and theatrical wit, set to the sounds of classical, jazz, and klezmer music, all wrapped around interactive games and movement adventures for kids and adults before and after the show. Socks become ice skates, empty packages become turntables, and the dinner table has a life of its own — all with the message that it's better to dance with the box on your head than to fret over what's inside.
