Duquesne Wind Symphony
The Duquesne Wind Symphony, directed by Dr. Robert C. Cameron, has received national attention through its performances at the Eastern Division College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) conferences. Using the player pool concept, the ensemble performs music ranging from works requiring as few as eight players to as many as 45.

A Night of Favorites
Bruce Lauffer, Music Director and Conductor of the McKeesport Symphony Orchestra and the Latshaw Pops Orchestra will be joined by 20-year-old pianist Alvin Zhu, winner of numerous Pittsburgh-area competitions. Alvin was featured on NPR's "From the Top" as its Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist and scholarship winner.

Yoed Nir, cello & electric cello
Mr. Nir plays the August Diehl (1902) cello on loan from the America-Israek Foundation. He'll play Suites 1 & 2 by Bach, Suite by Cassado, Vocalise by Rachmaninoff, Apres un reve by Fauer, and his own World of Cello: Solo Improvisation for Electric Cello.

Choral Prayer

Free Band Concert
The band celebrates its 30th anniversary with the premiere of a commissioned work by Samuel R. Hazo, "Parkour."  Also, Vaughan Williams' "Toccata Marziale," the traditional "Loch Lomond," Sousa's "The Gallant Seventh," selections from "Victory at Sea," and more.  Free-will ood or monetary donations donations benefit the Squirrel Hill Food Pantry.

The Singing Serpent: Animals in Song
The PSC teams up with the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium to explore the very human stories that result when zoology meets song.  Pittsburgh Zoo Education Specialist Robin McRoberts will be on hand along with soprano Laura Knoop Very, baritone Alexander Hurd, and pianists Karen Roethlisberger Verm and Benjamin Binder to talk about the animals featured in each song. And keep your eyes peeled for a special appearance by a certain renowned reptile!
