Ted Hearne's newly-commissioned The Cage Variations is a set of variations on Charles Ives' philosophical and hypnotic song "The Cage." The 12 variations are built entirely from shards of music by contemporary American composers. This colorful and prismatic program also includes each of the sampled works, in whole or in part, in its original form. Kevin Noe conducts, with Timothy Jones, baritone.

Ariadne auf Naxos
