Music and Poetry - "Fa├žade"
The Renaissance City Winds present a production of Facade, featuring readers Robert Page and Kate Young. British composer William Walton wrote the music to the poetry of Edith Sitwell, which is recited in precise rhythm against the instrumental music. The Winds will also perform quintets by Jacques Ibert and Gabriel Pierne, plus a trio, The French Suite, by Robert Washburn.

Nearly Wild
Fresh from its triumphant debut at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Texture Contemporary Ballet stages "Nearly Wild," which explores the blending of the tame and the wild within the human condition. The progam also includes premiere by Kelsey Bartman with original music by Blake Ragghianti, an expanded version of the ballet "Broken Flow", and new pieces by up-and-coming choreographers Oscar Carillo and James Barret.

Great Opera for a Great City
The JSO's 21st annual Opera Festival Gala heralds the concert season with inspiring music and world class guest opera singers including soprano Sari Gruber, mezzo-soprano Barbara Rearick, tenor Ray Bauwens, and bass-baritone Richard Zeller. Istvan Jaray conducts. A dinner and live and silent auctions follow the concert.

Beethoven on the Bluff - Septet/Piano Trios I
The Duquesne Piano Trio (David Allen Wehr, Charles Stegeman and Adam Liu) makes its formal debut with the tuneful and youthful Septet, one of Beethoven's most popular works during his lifetime. The program opens with the "Ghost" Piano Trio, said to be inspired by the Witches' Scene from "Macbeth", and its companion, the elegant Piano Trio, Op. 70 #2.
