Is there no one I can trust? And shall I then suspect my brother, my faithful dog, the wine I drink, the air I breathe? Eugène Ionesco's Macbett turns Shakespeare’s classic tale into a tragic farce that captures the insanity of war. After subduing a rebellion, the generals Macbett and Banco are promised great rewards by the Archduke Duncan. When Duncan breaks his promise, Macbett is driven to plot Duncan’s murder, take his crown, and steal his wife. Ionesco’s reworking. Shannon Sindelar directs.

Almost, Maine
The Gateway H.S. Drama Club stages "Almost, Maine," by John Cariani, directed by Larry F. Cervi and produced by Drama Club sponsor Bob Read. As the northern lights hover, Almost's residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways.

The Crucible
The hysteria and intolerance of the Salem Witch Trials of the 1690s provide the setting for this Arthur Miller classic. When a mysterious illness affects a teenage girl, the family looks for someone or something to blame. Suggestions of witchcraft made by the jealous, conniving Abigail Williams throws this town into a frenzy of accusations. A rich allegory of the McCarthy era of the 1940s and 50s, The Crucible won the Tony Award for Best Play in 1953.

The Light of Christmas
Music has the power to transform this bleakness — to lift us out of the cold and the dark, into the light of the Christmas season.
