Bach and Schubert
Classical Revolution Pittsburgh performs works by J.S. Bach and Franz Schubert. Special guest Marc Giosi, executive director of Chatham Baroque, will perform Bach's Harpsichord concerto in F minor (BWV 1056). The performance will be followed by Pittsburgh's premiere tango ensemble Cuidado.

Magic of Paris
Gianandrea Noseda opens the PSO's Paris Festival with early 20th century composers who revolutionized music in the City of Light. Italy's Alfredo Cassella studied at the Paris Conservatory and befriended Debussy and de Falla. His Symphony #2 is inspired by Gustav Mahler's music. Frenchman Claude Debussy's colorful Ibéria complements Spaniard de Falla's Three-Cornered Hat, a pantomime commissioned for Diaghalev's famed Ballets Russes.

Contradiction
The Bach Choir explores how different styles and instrmentation can be used with the same musical material. The twist conceived by Artistic Director Thomas Douglas is accompaniment by a five-piece jazz/rock/fusion band and/or string ensemble. Featured composers include Vivaldi, Mozart, Handel, Pachelbel, J. S. Bach, Jagger & Richards, Faure and Haydn.

Abduction from the Seraglio
Mozart's opera follows the adventures of a young Spanish nobleman, his lover, and their servants who are kidnapped and placed into service to the Pasha, Abduction features showpiece arias alongside moments of uproarious laughter and genuine pathos. The production places the action on the luxurious Orient Express. Two stars of 2010's Barber of Seville return in another comic pairing: David Portillo as the nobleman Belmonte, and Paolo Pecchioli as the Pasha's right-hand man, Osmin. Antony Walker conducts.
