NPR's "From the Top" at Carnegie Mellon
Christopher O'Riley hosts a live taping of "From the Top," NPR's showcase of the best young musicians in America. Celebrate Valentine's Day with a show of love for Pittsburgh's wealth of musical talent as outstanding young artists from CMU's preparatory school and from around Pittsburgh perform for a nationwide radio audience.

Shen Yun Performing Arts
Shen Yun presents colorful and exhilarating performances of classical Chinese dance and music -- traditional Chinese culture as it once was: a study in grace, wisdom, and the virtues distilled from the five millennia of Chinese civilization. Award-winning vocalists perform with piano, and with the two-stringed erhu, also known as the Chinese violin. Music as Inspiration
Manfred Honeck conducts a PSO-commissioned world premiere by Composer of the Year Steven Stucky to mark the 50th anniversary of environmentalist Rachel Carson's book "Silent Spring." Violinist Nikolaj Znaider returns in Sibelius' transcendent Violin Concerto. Tchaikovsky's Symphony #6 "Pathétique" traverses the full range of human emotion — triumphant successes, heartbreaking personal tragedies, terrifying fears, and tender nostalgia.

La Clemenza di Tito
Jealousy, conspiracy. loyalty, and Mozart's music propel a story of intrigue, remorse, and fragile redemption. The daughter of the former emperor, uses her admirer in a plot to remove the beloved Emperor Tito, who fails to return her affections. Directed by Patrick Brannan with the Undercroft Orchestra conducted by Walter Morales. Sung in Italian with surtitles. Feb 18th is a preview performance.

Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra: Pittsburgh vs. Philadelphia
The PJO pits the region's best jazz drumming against Philadelphia native Christian McBride in a friendly but spirited rivalry. This concert will feature Pittsburgher Jeff "Tain" Watts as he and McBride both perform their big band compositions and arrangements with the PJO directed by Sean Jones.
