From Voronezh, this company of 65 brings a brand-new production of Romeo & Juliet set to the classic score by Prokofiev and chorographed by Mikhail Lavrosky, former principal dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet, and now a choreographer for the Bolshoi and other companies.

Billy Elliot: The Musical

Brahms' Requiem
Grammy Award-winning American baritone Thomas Hampson makes a long-overdue return to the PSO in Dvořák's beautiful Biblical Songs, based on various psalms. Hampson then joins soprano Chen Reiss, the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh, Manfred Honeck and the PSO in Brahms' A German Requiem (in German), filled with quiet moments of tenderness and sweetness as wll as powerful peaks of emotional intensity.

Percussion Showcase
Composer Scott Steele's Music for Three Percussionists will be premiered, as will another work, Words, written for the occasion by percussionist Mike Perdue.  Percussionist Elliot Beck is featured in Elliott Carter's Pieces for Four Timpani, and Marcus Kim plays his vibraphone arrangement of Eric Satie's Gymnopedies.  Also on the program are works by Ivan Jimenez and Michael Culligan.

Duquesne Wind Symphony
The Duquesne Wind Symphony, directed by Dr. Robert C. Cameron, has received national attention through its performances at the Eastern Division College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) conferences. Using the player pool concept, the ensemble performs music ranging from works requiring as few as eight players to as many as 45.
