Conductor Leonard Slatkin explains and the PSO demonstrates details inside The Sorcerer's Apprentice and four Ravel works that demonstrate Ravel's penchant for traditional dance forms. On the second half, hear these complete works including Ravel's Bolero and Dukas' The Sorcerer's Apprentice which tells the story of a student who uses magical spells he hasn't yet learned to control.

Paul Huang, violin
22-year-old Taiwanese-American violinist Paul Huang is a recipient of the Juilliard Achievement Award and the 2012 YCA Helen Armstrong Fellowship. He has performed with American and international orchestras. "An artist with the goods for a significant career" (Washington Post), Mr. Huang plays a 1638 Nicolo Amati violin.
