Mozart & Bartok
Conducting favorite Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos returns. Mozart's Serenade No. 6 is a delightful orchestration for two small ensembles. Powerhouse pianist, Shai Wosner makes his PSO debut with Mozart's Concerto No. 15. Bartók's Concerto for Orchestra is one of the composer's most popular works, in which each section of instruments plays a virtuosic role.

The orchestra celebrates the 50th birthday year of Pulitzer-Prize winning composer Jennifer Higdon by performing her dynamic Concerto for Orchestra. Breath and Imagination: The Story of Roland Hayes
A world premiere by Daniel Beaty (creator of Through the Night). Roland Hayes journeyed from the dirt paths of Georgia to European stages, becoming the first African-American classical vocalist to be heard around the world. With bright yellow shoes given to him by his mother, his Angel Mo', Roland walked the hard road to stardom. This musical features the soul of spirituals and the grace of classical music to portray one man's ambition to be an artist.
