The Alchemists' Lab
Inspired by Ben Jonson's famous 17th century comedy, The Alchemist, this production is devised and written by Gab Cody and students of Point Park’s Conservatory Theatre Company. Cody and the students use techniques of physical and absurdist theatre, farce, improvisation and screwball comedy to create a one-of-a-kind spectacle. In the Rauh Theatre.

Holiday Program
Performances by the Tuesday Musical Club Choral and String Ensembles. Free. A reception will follow the program.

Romeo and Juliet
Acclaimed dancer, choreographer and artistic director Nicholas Petrov choreographed the American premiere of Romeo and Juliet at Point Park more than 40 years ago. It was his first production at Point Park and he concludes his tenure at the school with another memorable production of Prokofiev's famous ballet to Prokofiev's score in the Playhouse's Rockwell Theatre.

WQED's Jim Cunningham Presents: Opera 101
Cooper-Siegel Community Library welcomes Jim Cunningham of WQED-FM as he offers an inside look at opera, featuring video of some of his favorite opera moments. It's a fun and entertaining look at opera through the ages.

Highmark Holiday Pops
Highmark Holiday Pops returns for two weekends. Todd Ellison, hailed by The New York Times as one of "Broadway's electric conductors," leads the PSO and the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh with a host of guest artists. Music director and conductor of the 2012 Broadway revival of Annie, Ellison's credits include Monty Python's Spamalot, La Cage aux Folles, and Michel Legrand's Amour. He also was Marvin Hamlisch's music director on productions of Ballroom and The Nutty Professor.

Pittsburgh je t'aime
A new photography exhibition by Hilary Robinson, a London-based artist trained as a painter who transitioned into writing about art and art theory, then into leadership roles in art schools, including the College of Fine Arts at CMU. The show consists of more than 100 small printed images, taken in and around Pittsburgh with an iPhone.

East Winds Symphonic Band at PPG Wintergarden
Stir your holiday spirits with the Saxophones of the East Winds Symphonic Band at 3:00 pm, and the full band at 5:00 pm, playing alongside the "Spirits of Giving from Around the World" exhibit in the PPG Wintergarden.

Gaudete in Domino
The Saint Vincent Camerata Scholars perform Gaudete in Domino, an Advent a cappella program of choral music from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

Mary Speaks
Pittsburgh School for the Choral Arts (formerly Oakland Girls Choir) presents "Mary Speaks," a musical exploration of the Nativity and life of Christ from Mary's perspective, using traditional British, French and American carols as well as recent compositions including" Magnificat" by Frank LaRocca, "Ave Maria" by Guy Forbes and "There is No Rose" by Randall Stroope.

University of Chicago Motet Choir Holiday Concert
The Motet Choir returns to Pittsburgh to begin its 2013 holiday tour, singing short pieces on seasonal themes framed by settings of the O Antiphons, a set of medieval chants for the days leading up to Christmas. The program includes choral music spanning several centuries, alongside secular and traditional songs for the winter season. The Fox Chapel Area High School Madrigal Singers will also perform. Freewill offerings are accepted.

Family Christmas Carol Singalong Concert
Selections from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker; "Jupiter" from Holst's The Planets; Rutter's Christmas Lullaby; and an audience singalong of seasonal music.

Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra Holiday Celebration with Freddy Cole
Artistic Director of the Orchestra, Sean Jones, says, “We want to try to recreate the spirit of what the holiday is all about.” This very popular concert spreads Christmas cheer and old favorites receive a jazz makeover. Vocalist Freddy Cole is the brother of Nat King Cole. He "exudes a gallant but unfussy brand of cool" - New York Times

Joyful Holiday Celebration
A festive evening for the entire community with sing-alongs, holiday music, Johnstown Symphony Chorus and a special visitor from the North Pole.

Holiday Concert: Welcome Home
The choirs return to East Liberty Presbyterian Church, where they presented Holiday concerts for many years, to sing selections from Handel's Messiah, festive holiday songs, a world-premiere Hanukkah piece by David P. Goldstein, and The Twelve Days of Christmas. Guest artists include the Edgewood Symphony and ELPC's Chancel Choir prepared by Music Director and Organist, Dr. Edward Alan Moore.

The Nutcracker
The Westmoreland Symphony co-presents its 20th annual production of the Nutcracker featuring the Laurel Ballet. Daniel Meyer conducts.

2013 Holiday Traditions
Join the Butler County Symphony for an annual Holiday event, featuring Butler county native Elizabeth Matchett Freimuth, Principal Horn of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and the Slippery Rock University Choir. Sing along with your favorite holiday music.

The Gentlemen Sing: Live Finals (FREE)
Free vocal competition finals. MCG Jazz invites young male jazz vocalists, ages 18 to 35, to apply for this brand-new curated project by Marty Ashby and MCG Jazz. The winner will be featured by MCG Jazz in February, 2014.
