Symphonette Winter Concert
Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestras' 40-member Symphonette Conductor and conductor Andrew Wickesberg perform Symphony No. 1 in C minor by Felix Mendelssohn, Canon in D Major by Johann Pachelbel and Rhythmic Variations on Two Ancient Hymns by Howard Hanson.

Belle Voci a Natale
Craig Cannon directs his Belle Voci women's chorus to welcome the Christmas season with Benjamin Britten's "A Ceremony of Carols" and other pieces celebrating the holidays. Guest artists include Lucy Scandrett, harp; Gail Henry, organ; and Duquesne University's "Voices of Spirit."

Piffaro - Drive the Cold Away
Piffaro's performs songs and dances that celebrate the various traditions of the season, from hymns and chorale settings for Advent by Michael Praetorius to delightful Sephardic tunes for Hannukah, from English songs and ballads to lively dances and popular tunes from across the continent, all set to Piffaro's wonderful array of shawms, sackbuts, dulcians, recorders, bagpipes, lute and harp. The incomparable soprano Laura Heimes joins Piffaro for this program of seasonal delights.

Pitt Men's Glee Club - 124th Annual Holiday Concert
Richard Teaster directs the Pitt Men's Glee Club in a program of holiday favorites.

Holiday Pops
Join the Philharmonic in celebrating the most wonderful time of the year with your winter favorites. Whether wassailing or not, this concert will have you singing holiday carols and ballads throughout the season.

Silver Bells
The Three Rivers Ringers present Silver Bells, featuring their new, 2-octave set of Silver Melody Bells given by an anonymous donor. Artistic Director Nancy Lutz will conduct favorite holiday songs, including I Wonder As I Wander, In the Bleak Midwinter, and a transcription of Franz Liszt's setting of Adeste Fidelis. The Three Rivers Ringers will record this program for their debut commercial recording, due in 2014.

Home for the Holidays
A holiday program including Irving Berlin's White Christmas, George Whitefield Chadwick's Noel, Victor Herbert's March of the Toys, Rock of Ages arranged by Molly May and selections from Messiah and other Holiday Favorites with the Renaissance City Choirs.

It Was All Shining: A Camerata Christmas
Artistic Director of The Pittsburgh Camerata since 1998, Rebecca Rollett has always loved programming the Christmas concert. Flutist Josie Kost and oboist Lenny Young again join the celebration creating musical links between the choral selections.

Messiah Sing-Along
You're invited to sing along on five beloved choruses in a family-friendly concert of Handel's "Messiah" with soloists Anna Singer, Mary Beth Sederburg, Christopher Quigley, and Matthew Hunt and the Calvary Festival Choir & Chamber Orchestra conducted by Paul Campbell. Non-perishable food items for the Northside Common Ministries pantry are requested.

Assumption Church Christmas Concert
Church of the Assumption in Bellevue presents Lessons & Carols featuring the Adult & Children's Choirs with organ & orchestra, in Christmas anthems & carols and selections from Handel's Messiah, under the direction of Neil Stahurski. Free will offerings accepted.

Debut of a new ensemble!
Pittsburgh Opera Head of Music Glenn Lewis has formed Ensemble Una Voce with violinist Juan Jaramillo and cellist Lisa Kohanski. Their premiere concert in the Opera's George R. White Studio includes Bartok's Romanian Folk Dances, de Falla's Suite Popular Espanola, Ravel's Le Tombeau de Couperin, and Brahms' Trio in B major. Free, but please RSVP to 412 281-0912 x-215.

Christmas Concert
Featuring Camille Saint-Saens' Christmas Oratorio with the Westminster Chancel Choir. strings and harp. Guest artists include the Upper St. Clair High School Chanticlairs, Westminster Ringers, Cherub Choir, Junio Choir and Youth Choir.

Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestra Winter Concert
Conductor John Wilcox begins the Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestras' 40th Anniversary Season with Bernstein's Candide Overture, Schubert's "Unfinished" Symphony, Smetana's The Moldau by Bedřich Smetana, Khachaturian's Gayaneh Suite No. 3 from Gayaneh, and Wagner's Overture to Die Meistersinger.

Duquesne University Concerto Competition
Jeffrey Turner conducts the Duquesne University Symphony Orchestra with soloists and repertoire to be announced.

Music of J. S. Bach
The Saint Vincent Camerata and the Academy Chamber Orchestra presents J. S. Bach's Cantata #61 "Nun komm, der heiden heiland," Violin Concerto in A minor, and Cantata #147 "Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben."
