A Skull in Connemara
For one week each autumn, Mick Dowd is hired to disinter the bones in the local cemetery to make way for new arrivals. As the time approaches for him to dig up the bones of his own late wife, strange rumors regarding his involvement in her sudden death seven years ago resurface. Martin McDonagh, author of The Lieutenant of Inishmore, brings you part thriller-whodunit and part farce, accented with flying skulls and bloody scenes. Martin Giles directs.

Conductors Festival
Jeffery Meyer (St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic) and Walter Morales (Edgewood Symphony Orchestra) lead a field of visiting conductors including JJ Pierce, Jacob Kallman, and Daniel Curtis in four premieres by Pittsburgh composers.

Tobias Picker's Therese Raquin
Therese Raquin is Tobias Picker's 2001 two-act opera to a libretto by Gene Scheer based on the novel by Emile Zola. Picker's operas include Emmeline ('96) and The Fantastic Mr. Fox ('98). A cast including QED's Anna Singer performs with an 18-piece orchestra and video by Joe Seamans.

PB&J Session: Five Flavors of Folk
Chatham Baroque's wildly popular Peanut Butter & Jam Sessions are designed especially for preschool children and their accompanying adults. Based on a model developed by the Linton Chamber Music Series in Cincinnati, PB&J is hosted by certified Kindermusik teacher Lynda Wingerd, and encourage young children to become active and enthusiastic listeners through music, dance and games. Chatham Baroque performs live, often with guest artists.

Hugo Wolf's Italian Songbook
Director and pianist Benjamin Binder, soprano Sari Gruber and baritone Daniel Teadt perform Hugo Wolf's Italian Songbook, one of the crowning jewels of the art song repertoire. Composed during the 1890s in the artistic and sexual hotbed of fin-de-siecle Vienna, these 46 tiny yet exquisite songs explore the pleasures, perils, and pitfalls of love from every possible angle – the war between the sexes never sounded so good.

For its 40th anniversary, the Pittsburgh Camerata pays tribute to founding Artistic Director Arthur Wenk with works by Guillame Dufay, Tomas Luis de Victoria, Paul Hindemith, Maurice Ravel and "Jesu Meine Freude" by J.S. Bach.

Poptastic! The Art of Burton Morris
This first major retrospective of Burton Morris' work will feature nearly 50 items including early art and drawings from Morris' Pittsburgh childhood, signature painted works, product lines such as his Pittsburgh ties, sculptural work, and interactive works of art developed in conjunction with the Entertainment Technology Center at CMU. Carnegie Mellon-trained Morris was inspired by comic strips and magazines as a child, and later by artists Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Tom Wesselmann, and Red Grooms.
