BYOB - Shakespeare's Ghosts
Bring Your Own Bard is PSIP’s informal scene night. Professional actors and non-actors read favorite Shakespeare. Feb. 25th will feature pieces about ghosts, goblins, witches, and other creatures of the night: the ghost of a murdered father, a spirit who invites himself to dinner, goblins wreaking mischief and witches chanting obscure prophecy.

Academy Chamber Ensemble - All-Mozart Concert
The Academy Chamber Ensemble, directed by Warren Davidson, will perform a duo for violin and viola, two charming works for flute and strings, and the sublime String Quintet in C major. The informal evening will include interesting tales of Mozart's life and the particular origins of these compositions.

What do Scottish, Irish, and Kentucky Bluegrass music have in common? They share the five-note bagpipe scale. That's a celtic connection! And with St. Paddy's day looming, what better excuse to dust off the bagpipes, put on our dancing shoes and don the kilt? Join us, with school bands from all over the region, as well as the pipes and drums of the Balmoral School of Piping in the explosion of all that is celtic. Guest soloist: Detective Rick Manning.

Gift of Life Gala
The National Kidney Foundation's annual Kidney Gift of Life Gala will be an evening of black and gold, of celebrating LIFE, and of truly making a difference. The Gala will feature live entertainment by Protégé, a cocktail and hors d’ouerves reception, open bar, sit down dinner, as well as live and silent auctions. Gift of Life honorees include Mr. John V. Heher, President of Liberty Insurance; Dr. Rita McGill, Nephrologist at AGH; and Ms. Zinna Scott, Kidney Walk Volunteer and Fundraiser.

Firebird & Eroica
Music Director Lawrence Loh conducts Beethoven's Symphony #3 "Eroica" (Italian for "heroic"). PYSO Conducting Competition winner Daniel Mallampalli will lead the Farandole from Bizet's L'Arlésienne. Maestro Loh and the PYSO close the concert with Stravinsky's colorful Firebird Suite.

One of the greatest bands of all time, the Glenn Miller Orchestra defines big swing and velvety jazz. Jump and jive with these bow-tied musicians who dance while they play. Featuring the incredibly talented vocal duo, Nick Hilscher and Julia Rich.

The Musical Conquest of the New World
When it came to music in the Americas, the British and Spanish imperial campaigns spread beauty, not destruction. Mexican and South American cathedral archives contain many jewels composed in the Spaniish late Renaissance style of Morales and Victoria. Choral music written in North America was much more tied to the British cathedral tradition. Composers such as Leo Sowerby and Healey Willan developed a distinctively American style without fully relinquishing their "old country" roots.
