The concert begins with Composer of the Year Mason Bates' Mothership, commissioned and premiered by the YouTube Symphony in Sydney. Bates says this "fast-paced opener imagines the orchestra as a mothership that is 'docked' by several virtuosic soloists." Then, Manfred Honeck conducts Tchaikovsky’s vibrant Symphony #4.
Forever Plaid - Plaid Tidings
Directed by Jim Pollino. A holiday spinoff from Forever Plaid, the off-Broadway musical revue written by Stuart Ross in New York in 1990 and now performed internationally. The show is a revue of the close-harmony "guy groups."

We Wish You a Merry Christmas
These Christmas concerts abegin the season for PCC: Nov. 30, 8pm at Ingomar; Dec. 1, 8pm at Fox Chapel; and Dec. 2, 4pm at Ingomar.
The Americas in Concert
Artistic Director Pablo Ardiles conducts Ernesto Lecuona's Andalucia Suite; Joaquin Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez, with guitarist Marco Sartor; Arturo Marques' Danzon #2; plus bossa nova, jazz, tango, and symphonic progressive rock selections. Special guests include soprano Lilly Abreau, AquiTango, and Cello Fury. Free, but nearly "sold out."
Guest Conductor Walter Morales leads traditional seasonal selections and welcomes the Butler Senior High Singers directed by Bryan Helsel. Selections will include "The Night Before Christmas," "Peace, Peace, Peace," Klezmer music, and Rimsky-Korsakov's "Snow Maiden" suite.

O Come All Ye Faithful
The musical celebration of Advent and the upcoming Christmas season will feature Duquesne University'd Voices of Spirit and the Pappert Men’s and Women’s Chorales directed by Christine Jordanoff and Robert Kurth, as well as instrumental music and sacred readings. Free admission.
Susan Sands conducts te Pittsburgh premiere of "Minor Alterations," a clever medley of holiday favorites transformed into a minor key, plus music from "Polar Express," and more. The Franklin Regional High Schoo Chorus sings "A Vaughan Williams Christmas," "Christmas in the Air" and a sing-along "Hallelujah" Chorus.
Ronald Zollman leads the Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic in a n all-Russian program including Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, featuring pianist and 2011 CMU Concerto Competition winner Mengyi Yang, Glinka's charming Valse-Fantasie, and Shostakovich's powerful Symphony #10.
Three Rivers Ringers
These concerts are titled "Gift of the Magi" after the centerpiece of the program written by the Ringers' Andy Seay -- a dramatic rendering of the classic O. Henry short story with beautiful music in a variety of styles. A reception follows each concert.
This concert celebrates the extraordinary talent of the WSW featuring the Seton Hill University Faculty Saxophone Quartet and classic works for band by Sergei Prokofiev, Robert Jager and Jan Bach. Paul Basler's exciting "Carnival" brings this concert to a thrilling finish. Jason Worzbyt conducts.
Music Director Lawrence Loh conducts Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances, Faure's Pelleas and Melisande suite, and, with soloist Noah Bendix-Balgley (PSO Concertmaster), the Mozart Violin Concerto #3. The concert is free, but tickets are required. Download them via the PYSO website.
A Victorian Holiday
The Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh presents "A Victorian Holiday", under the direction of Betsy Burleigh. Travel back to the Dickens era with a jolly program of holiday favorites the whole family will enjoy, with Dickensian readings by Vance Torbert.
World Music Festival

Auditions for "HMS Pinafore"
Stage and Vocal Auditions for the Savoyards' March production of Gilbert & Sullivan's HMS Pinafore are held on a first-come, first served basis.
