Pittsburgh Opera Piano Sale
Every year, Pittsburgh Opera receives a loan of new Kawai pianos for its rehearsal, coaching, and performance needs. To support this program, these and other fine pianos that have accompanied some of the opera world's great voices are sold off at the season's end, and replaced with new ones.

Shadyside…The Art Festival on Walnut Street

Music Plus - The Ultimate Duo: Violin and Harp
Pittsburgh Symphony Principal Harpist Gretchen Van Hoesen and former PSO concertmaster Andres Cardenes perform works by Marin, Sibelius, a Marcel Grandjany Pittsburgh premiere, a lush virtuosic duo by St. Petersburg's Andres Izmaylov, and "Zerbina" by Bernard Andres. A 2:30 pre-concert features young singing sensation Ava Maha. A dessert reception follows the concert. Freewill offering.

Schubert on the Bluff: Trout Quintet
This multi-year Schubert series begins with Schubert's Trout Quintet and The Shepherd on the Rock, along with David Stock's Two for the Road. "The pairing [of composers] will illustrate how their styles are very different, yet alike—creating an intriguing listening experience for the audience," says pianist and Artistic Director David Allen Wehr. Guests include soprano Sari Gruber, clarinetist Ron Samuels, and bassist Jeffrey Turner. Pre-concert discussion at 2:30.

Neighborhood Week: Salute to Veterans
Rocky Bleier hosts aa one-hour musical celebration of American service men and women, featuring a moving performance of Danny Boy with PSO oboist Cynthia Koledo DeAlmeida and Allegheny County Police Detective Ricky Manning; a special Armed Forces Salute medley, God Bless America with soprano Katy Shackleton Williams, Brahms' Violin Concerto featuring the PSO's Ellen Chen-Livingston, and Copland's "Four Dance Episodes" from Rodeo.

Neighborhood Week: Brass N’at
