The PCO celebrates America's Got Talent by featuring the winners of its annual Young Artist Competition. Violinist Ziqi Meng will play Wieniawski's Scherzo-Tarantelle. Thomas Ik-Hyun Kim will perform Cello Concerto #1 by Saint-Saens. Ariana Chiu will play part of the Piano Concerto #3 by Prokofiev. The orchestra will also play music by Americans Duke Ellington, Aaron Copland, and Alan Hovaness.

Creativity in Hard Times: The Federal Music Project of the 1930s
Leslie Amper's lecture/piano recital includes images and historic recordings from the Great Depression as well as live performances of piano music by Florence Price, William Grant Still, Roger Sessions, Ruth Crawford and Aaron Copland. Amper's engaging and informative program clearly presents the vibrant contribution made by the Federal Music Project throughout the United States.
